The ombre craze doesn’t just apply to hair these days. Open up any fashion magazine and you’ll see signs of ombre in fashion, makeup, nails, and accessories. Ombre makeup can be applied in either a bold or subdued look, and can add edge and dimension to your typical look.
The process is simple ; since ombre is a french word describing the transition of color from light to dark, and vice versa, the technique follows suit:
*You simply take a light shade and a dark shade (typically in the same color family), and apply one as a base color to your pout.
*Then, with your lighter shade, apply at the center-most of your kissed-lips, creating a “border-like” appearance from the dark to light (or light to dark) pattern that you choose. This look can also create the illusion of a fuller pout — which many of us would love to have!
You can keep this look simple, or add a more vivid touch — say by using a shimmered color at the center, do more than two colors, etcetera.
Max Factor has created a product called the “Flipstick” which makes this process even easier, offering two shades on either side of the stick, offering a base color and accent color, all in one.
Finish your pout with a gloss to create a shiny finish, or leave matte as is.
