Want to add a little sparkle and flair to your next get-together? Or maybe you simply want to add some texture to a room in your home. These tissue tassels are a colorful and crafty way to break up the wall space in any room; the color combinations and patterns are endless!
What you’ll need:
* Assorted Tissue Paper
* Scissors
* Ribbon or wire
First: Open up tissue & fold in half
Second: Fold the tissue into an 1.5-2inch accordion pleat , leaving the open edges of tissue at the bottom
Third: Begin cutting vertical lines at the bottom open edges of the tissue. Leave approximately 1.5 – 2 inches uncut from the top
Fourth: Once all cuts are made, open the tissue, leaving the frayed, open edges at the bottom of the tissue. There will be a 1-2 inch gap at the top.
Fifth: Open the tissue completely, leaving fringe at both top and bottom of the paper, with a 2-4 inch gap at the center.
Sixth: Turn tissue sideways, begin rolling tightly until you reach the opposite end.
Seventh: When rolling is complete, it should look like this (ps. blooper. check out Jennie Kay’s freshly pedicured toes peeping in, haha!)
Eighth: Tightly roll and twist, creating a loop. If tight enough, loop will remain in this shape. You may secure with tape or a ribbon knot if you wish as well!
Voila!
Alternate colors of tissues, textures, etcetera to create an interesting pattern or completely random assortment! Hang up and you’re done! How fun are these?!
