At Jennie Kay Beauty, we have the privilege of working with over 100 AMAZING brides each year – brides from all over the world with a plethora of styles and looks. One of the most exciting parts of our job {if you would call it that!} is creating a custom look for each bride. We create this look with the help of some variables: with some requests from the bride herself, her overall color palette of the day, her dress, and her everyday look. We want each of our brides to feel 100% comfortable and herself – just an amplified version of herself.
We recently partnered with Loverly, your one-stop place to discover all things wedding! We were asked to put our beauty knowledge to the test and create makeup inspiration looks from some stunning gowns on the Loverly website.
One of the hardest parts of this task? Narrowing down our options to just three wedding gowns! There are SO many amazing styles, designers, and looks it was near to impossible choosing just three! We really focused on searching for gowns that were not strapless but still had something sexy, flirty, or timeless about them. We hope you enjoy what we came up with – which style would you go for?
Dress Designer: Love,Yu
For our first look we chose this ivory and white Love, Yu gown. A wedding dress with pockets?! Yes please! We chose this dress for its simple, feminine and girly style. We wanted to create a “baby doll” look for this gown – keep the face clean and natural, a metallic, natural toned eye using Josie Maran Coconut Water shadow in ‘Rio De Rosegold’ and a soft pink lip using Josie Maran’s Limitless Pink lip color. To enhance this baby doll look, we would add some Ardell Individual Lashes to enhance the eye and finish with Too Faced Better than Sex mascara. Dust MAC dainty on the apples of the cheek and finish by highlight the cheek, brow, and bridge of the nose with Benefit High Beam highlighter.
Dress Designer: JLM Couture: Hayley Paige
For our second look we chose this Hayley Paige stunner. This gown is sexy, modern and makes a serious statement with the plunging neckline and sheer panels. We wanted to pair this gown with none other than a bold, statement-making lip using Stila Stay All Day lip color in Scarlet Vinyl, and a matte, porcelain texture face using Makeup Forever, Matte Velvet. For the eyes we would use the Urban Decay Naked palette to create a buffed eye – similar to a Mary-Kate Olsen makeup look. Swipe some mascara on the lashes and dust Too Faced bronzer in Chocolate Soleil across forehead, cheek bones and bridge of the nose to finish the look.
Dress Designer: Monique Lhuillier
Our third look we chose this Monique Lhuillier one-shoulder gown. For this look, we wanted to reflect the classy, elegant and romantic touches of the dress and play up the eyes and create beautiful, “glowy” skin. For the eyes, we paired Urban Decay 24/7 liner in ‘Dark Purple’, gently buffed and paired with Dior Show Mascara. For the face, using Laura Mercier Flawless Fluide, create a flawless canvas and dust Mac Prism across cheek bones and hairline. Highlight the face using Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette on the brow, cheek bones and décolleté.
There you have it. Flawless, unique, and stunning bridal beauty. Head on over to Loverly for everything you need to get your bridal style in check!
